A legacy the must never be forgotten and it must be reclaimed...

While I have been more than happy to see America reclaim our place in space on Elon's Dragon capsule. I still miss the Space Shuttle... I was born in 1980 when the space shuttle was first launched. It would go on the become one of the icons I grew up with. I also grew up about twenty miles from Edwards Airforce base where the shuttle would land if the weather at the Cape made it dangerous to land. I would know one was landing when too loud sonic bombs would rattle my whole house.

My father also worked on thrusters they used on the shuttle. Space was a big thing in my family. The Shutter still holds a special place in my heart as do many others.

I even watched in horror when Challenger blew up and The Columbia Burned up on its way home.

After Obama sign this big fleet into oblivion it only made me hate him more than I did the day he was sworn in and don't get me started on our current Fraud and Chief.

I do hope that at some point a new Shuttle program might be brought back from the abyss of history to inspire a new generation. Perhaps a signal stage to launch system like the Venter Star promised back in the late '90s. Still whatever might be made to replace it. Nothing will ever match it. The '60s had the Mercury, Gemini, and the '70s saw the end of the Apollo. But the '80 and '90s had the Shuttle the longest-running star fleet in American history.

A legacy the must never be forgotten and one day must be reborn...

The End.
