Qualified Immunity needs to be ABOLISHED ACROSS AMERICA!!! It was a BAD IDEA to begin with! STOP LEGISLATING FROM THE BENCH #SCOTUS !!! Qualified Immunity has RUINED POLICING!!! #Police should be REQUIRED BY LAW TO CARRY LIABILITY INSURANCE which THEY PAY FOR PERSONALLY out of their own pockets! This "Liability Insurance" would protect TAXPAYERS and cover the officers for civil rights violations, #PoliceMisconduct cases, and other cases where police are RECKLESS and/or kill innocent people! THIS combined with ABOLISHING QUALIFIED IMMUNITY would weed out 99% of bad cops AND protect taxpayers from being forced to pay for POLICE MISTAKES!!! It's ACCOUNTABILITY for your actions! If I kill someone at work I'M LIABLE! Taxpayers are NOT going to pay for MY MISTAKE! So why then, should TAXPAYERS be on the hook for the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ANNUALLY awarded to people for police misconduct and abuses? Abusive officers would then face higher rates and eventually the insurance company could CANCEL THEIR POLICY if they have too many abuse claims.........just like car insurance. This would leave BAD COPS unable to be insured eventually..... SOLVING THE PROBLEM OF #Corrupt / Abusive officers on active duty! Once their insurance is cancelled they could NO LONGER WORK IN LAW ENFORCEMENT! Right now, even if a bad cop is FIRED he can just move one county over and go right back to work!
