Invite God back to America
America is at a dangerous point right now. We need to repent. We need to come back to our spiritual roots. Many of us were angry, sickened, frightened, bitter, and betrayed with what we saw on January 20th, 2021 even as we prayed, fought, protected and defended this nation and condemned the theft of the election. I felt the same way. People say repeatedly, “This is wrong!” “This is a betrayal!” “There is no justice!” “Why are these evil people not in jail?!” “Trump is the face of this nation, not this Beijing Biden!” “WE SAY NO!” “Stop the steal!” I said then I would not shut my mouth, but would continue to expose these depraved things according to Ephesians 5:11. That still holds.
But why is America in danger? It has forgotten the words of God. It has forgotten the blessing and protection of God. Why? Because of sin.
Isa 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
We need to repent as individuals, and as a nation.
The Bible, especially the NT, teaches us to pray for our leaders. Because all leaders in the world of all nations -- kings, governors, presidents, rulers -- are from God. What? People say, “You see what happened with Hitler and the Holocaust,” “Stalin and the pogroms!” “Xi Jinpeng persecuting the Christians and the Uighurs in China!” “Where was God when they did these things?” “Where was He when those innocents cried out for help?”
We must understand first that presidents and other world leaders are the face of the nation. The same is in the church; sometimes I say, show me your pastor and I will show you your church. Show me your church, I will tell you who the pastor is. The churches reflect what the pastors are like. My first pastors said that fish rot from the head. If you are a pastor or leader? I am! This world is knocking on the doors of my mind and heart, and I ask myself, who am I in this moment? What I am I doing? Where am I going? And all my jobs to change things are at the center. All leaders in wartime sit in the war room. That is also my heart -- the war room. Something happens there, something must come and happen there, to change the situation around me and in my situation.
Sheep smell like the pastor, and the pastor smells like the sheep. If we wish to change the situation in our country, the situation in our churches, we need to change ourselves and repent before God. We know prayer starts and ends from the heart. If I want to see change in our nation and the world, I need to change myself first. We need to repent as a nation.
