I have to call out the hypocrisy, and frankly the racism, of the Black Lives Matter movement. Setting aside the movement's apparent failure to condemn the riots and destruction of businesses that employ black people, consider what happened last night. To surround a black trump supporter (Vernon Jones) and call him a "house n---er" is unconscionable, and contrary to the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Why aren't these "activists" being arrested for hate crimes? King must be turning over in his grave over this! Black people have just as much right to decide if they're liberal or conservative, and who to support, or who to vote for, as anyone else. To argue otherwise is incontrivertibly racist. The argument that all black people should vote Democrat is also unethical, particularly given the problematic history of the Democratic Party. Have we forgotten about the party's support for slavery, the KKK, segregation, and destructive welfare policies? Have we forgotten about southern Democrats' opposition to Civil Rights legislation? Have we forgotten about disintegrating inner cities long governed by Democrats? For black people to truly be "liberated," if that's the term we want to use, the best strategy is to STOP the condescending practice of telling them which leaders they should support! In failing to do so, the Black Lives Matter movement has become no better than the actual racists and white supremacists they ostensibly oppose.
