I became friends with 2 of his wards, a skunk named "Stinker" and a cougar named "Thane." However, Thane's playfulness as a juvenile cougar scared the living crap out of me one day because I didn't understand his antics. He jumped up on me with his front paws, knocking me flat on my back; at which time he stood on me keeping me from getting back up. I was mortified until he licked me across the face with his tongue and purred. He was just playing. His fangs and his front claws had been removed, so there was no fear of being injured.
