The Modern Era Secessionism: "History repeats itself, the first as tragedy, then as farce." -- Karl Marx The Civil War (1861-1865) by any estimate was a tragedy. It took place under the guise of "States Rights". It really took place because the southern states (dominated by the #DemocraticParty) could not abide the results of 1860 #Election. Thus they #Seceded before their "State Rights" were violated. Note, that no imposition on state laws had yet taken place. Seven states had seceded from the Union before #AbrahamLincoln was even sworn into office. For the last 20 years, #SanctuaryCities have in effect been in a state of #Secession. Each municipality (dominated by Democratic Politics) operating as independent nations in the face of obvious #Constitutional #Federal authority. What has the Federal government done? Nothing. Now the nation has had to tolerate the existence of an autonomous zone in Seattle (a Democratic Party controlled city) called #CHAZ or #CHOP. Why? Because the local officials did nothing. The modern secessionism all being done in the guise of #Racism. The very racism invented and practiced by the Democratic party since its inception. Again all these crisis or perceived crisis is because the Democrats cannot abide the results of an election.
