Best advice I've heard this week! I'm sure glad that the Most High saw fit to bless me with the understanding that the "Old Timers" have already lived a life that I'm only part way through... So it's a good idea to LISTEN to them when they are kind enough to offer me some wisdom that they had to EARN! Nowadays everyone is a "Google Scholar" who believes they "Know something" simply because someone posted it to the internet, and then they read it! REAL WISDOM does not work that way! Without failure and "paying the price" for being wrong, you cannot truly gain any wisdom! I'm not saying that a smart man cannot learn the lessons of his elders... I'm just saying that without suffering through the failures they experienced, that knowledge just isn't converted to true wisdom because you paid no price for it When your elders speak.... You better LISTEN! Because it's very possible that they have forgotten more about this world than you'll ever know! A society that disrespects it's elders and tries to exterminate them because they can no longer be a slave , and a benefit to the public..... That is a society that won't be around very long!
