God the Father is the King and yes, King David submitted to Him. God taught him His ways and David walked in His truth. David did indeed learn to fear the Lord with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder. God loved David and saved him from death from arrogant and insolent men that had risen up against him. He was very gracious to David and gave him strength (The Lord’s might and power to resist temptation). David was raised by a Godly mother that served Him well.
