To give you an example of how corrupt and wasteful the American government is, the cost of a .gov website reached 1.7 BILLION DOLLARS! And who pays for it? The tax cattle of course. The badly managed website healthcare.gov sells health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Since the website went live in 2013, it has shut down, crapped out, stalled, rejected user logins, failed to load drop-down menus, and misloaded so consistently that its track record for failure is challenged only by Congress. In the hands of the government, a 1.7 billion dollar price tag couldn't deliver a website that does basic functions. The code was so poorly written that it buckled miserably under the heavy influx of traffic that its engineers and administrators should have seen coming.
