What are your thoughts on the idea of allowing all food cost and gas purchases, be tax deductible. This would be an across the board for everyone. Those two items are hitting everyone because of continuing price increases and inflation. I don’t know if ordering the deductions could be done by EO (which might be the quickest way) or if we need to pass a bill to do this. The deduction would only be allowed on federal returns (because to do it on state returns, the state might try to re-coup via higher property taxes). Since many don’t own property it might put a higher tax burden on those who do.
