Historic Eagle Bar in Downtown Deadwood, South Dakota BEFORE Legalized Gambling
The Eagle Bar is on the site of the Original Saloon #10 where James Butler Hickok (Wild Bill) was assassinated. The original Saloon #10 burned to the ground, as did many of the earlier buildings in Deadwood due to the fact they all were made of wood and shared common walls with their neighbors. The site was later rebuilt under a different name. The current site of today's Saloon #10 is about a block south on Main Street. Oh, and by the way; Wild Bill's "Death Chair" is a fake prop. The original never survived the fire that torched the original location.
