While I was looking up something else, I ran across this crime. This perp murdered (he denies murdering her) his girlfriend because she was going to leave him and New Orleans forever, then chopped her body up and placed her body into a particle board trunk. Here's the kicker, although. He kept the body for many years after.

He found someone else to be with, moved from where he committed the crime, and took the trunk with him, the corpse still in it. Then the big hurricane hit, he gets funds from FEMA, and re-locates with those funds, and as stupid as he is, leaves the damned trunk behind with the body still in it, and it smells to high heaven! How his new girlfriend never smelled it, beats the hell out of me.
