Speaking as someone who studied psychology for 4+ years (and who has been so successful thus far that I'm currently looking at a career in welding) I can honestly say that the modern efforts to quantify and measure human behavior have been a complete and total failure.
The field is a reeking mess of contradicting schools of thought - and while that ought to be a good thing in order to produce a high threshold of evidence and peer review, things are stated as fact and the normie plebs eat up pop-psychology articles like fucking pain-pills.
Professor Scathing's advice? Turn the clock back and look over some older works, works that never see the light of day because it's deemed quackery and pseudoscience. Real effort over hundreds and thousands of years by some very smart and very curious people the world-over have been put to paper and ought to be reconsidered by those who have truly "open minds". #science #literature #occult
