READ DEUTERONOMY 3:1 THROUGH 4:49
There are days when it is easy to be pulled away from God. Life has a way of creeping in and taking over. Changing circumstances and the desire to be successful can distract God’s people. Yet, as Moses warned the Israelites, God is a “jealous God” and wants nothing to be above Him in a person’s life. Even though a person may not craft idols from gold, things can still take precedence over God. But the Lord provides a way for those who stray to return.
But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him (Deuteronomy 4:29).
God created people and desires a relationship with them. He wants people to put Him first and everything else in second place.
To seek God with all your heart is to set aside anything that gets in the way of knowing Him and His will. Ask Him today if there is anything in your life that you have placed above Him.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, make me aware of anything that I have placed above You in my life.
