GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
GOD IS CALLING
READ LEVITICUS 1:1 THROUGH 4:35
The Lord called to Moses from the Tabernacle and said to him, “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. When you present an animal as an offering to the LORD, you may take it from your herd of cattle or your flock of sheep and goats” (Leviticus 1:1–2).

God birthed a new nation when He brought Israel out of Egypt. Promising to take care of them, He gave them one assignment—to walk in a way that honored Him. The people, however, were prone to dishonor God and to live far below His standards.

Through Moses, God instructed His people about offerings. Faithful offerings would indicate the people’s dedication. Even though God shared the rules for living in fellowship with Him, Israel did not always obey. When disobedience occurred, a blood sacrifice was the only acceptable way to cover sin.

Today, those who experience salvation but subsequently fall short of God’s standards have a remedy. Through repentance and faith in Jesus, God enables His children to please Him.

Challenge for Today: Answer God’s call.
