GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DOING HIS WORK TOGETHER
READ EXODUS 16:1 THROUGH 18:27
God had led the Israelites out of Egypt, but they faced many obstacles before they reached the Promised Land. First, they had to conquer the enemy who was living in the land. One of those enemies was the Amalekites. Joshua led the Israelite army into battle just as Moses had instructed.

Moses was on a hill along with Aaron and Hur. God had told Moses to lift his arms with the staff of God in his hands.

As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever

he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage (Exodus 17:11).

Aaron and Hur rushed to hold Moses’ arms up until the Israelite army defeated its enemy. Working together, the battle was won.

Just as Moses’ coworkers lifted his arms that his work might be done, so Christians need to lift one another in prayer that their battles may be won.

Prayer Suggestion: Ask God how to encourage other Christians as they live and strive to do His work.
