Good day brothers and sisters. Praise the Lord that we have come to the Third Sunday of September and that the harvest is in and for the beautiful Palouse, it was a great harvest indeed. Now let’s see what the Lord has for us from His Smart Book;
A Call to Prayer
2 First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, 2 for [a]kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This [kind of praying] is good and acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who [b]wishes all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth. 5 For there is [only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and mankind, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom [a substitutionary sacrifice to atone] for all, the testimony given at the right and proper time. 7 And for this matter I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying [when I say this]—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Here we have Paul the Apostle Urging us to pray and intercede for others and to thank God for His blessings on behalf of everyone. We are urged to pray for our Governments leaders and for anyone of high authority for that matter so that we may live peaceful, quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.
Boy we sure could use some peaceful quiet lives right now. I would say that we need to earnestly pray for that.
God finds this kind of prayer good and acceptable to Him. He truly desires for everyone to choose salvation through His Son Yeshua (Jesus Christ). Yeshua is the Mediator for us between God and us. He, Yeshua, gave Himself as a ransom, a sacrifice to atone, for all of us. So, we need to be praying for the salvation of those who haven’t yet chosen God.
The Lord Bless and Keep you, His Face shine upon you,
