Do you own your property? Have you ever heard of an Allodial Title? This is where you research the property back to when it was originally a part of a land grant. In Texas that might be part of Stephen F Austin’s Land grant from the Mexican govt. Once you can document that, you apply for the Allodial title to your property. See the linked pdf on Land Patents. Why would you need this? Because then no official from any agency (not police, sheriff, FBI, etc) can come on your property nor will you be obligated to pay any tax of any kind.
