The Antarctic Treaty of 1959, a unique and singular system of governance This is just an article I found, but it makes a point! I want you to put your "Critical Thinking" cap on for a minute! Now... I want you to give me AN EXAMPLE OF ANOTHER LAND MASS that the countries of the WORLD agreed to "Govern Together" but they also will NOT allow exploration! (They require EXPENSIVE permitting, but DENY almost all!) Unless you are a part of the #Military forces assigned to GUARD #Antarctica belonging to one of the signatories of the treaty nations... YOU'LL NEVER SEE ANTARCTICA! The military of several nations GUARD ANTARCTICA AGAINST EXPLORERS!!! They'll turn your boat or ship around! They claim that you can do "Research" but in order to do research you first must PAY a huge permit fee (non-refundable) and 99.9% of the time your permit will be DENIED!!! The ONLY PEOPLE DOING RESEARCH IN ANTARCTICA ARE #Government operations! Military operations go on constantly there, and they are constantly launching BALLOON #Satellites from down there (Where they can't be seen) But you'll NOT find any independent "Research" groups! EVERYONE down there has a top secret clearance (Required) and they are working for either a GOVERNMENT or a GOVERNMENT CONTRACTOR!!! ANY OTHER PATCH OF DIRT ON THIS PLANET..... These same governments would be at war FIGHTING OVER CONTROL OF IT!!! But not Antarctica! You don't find this strange??? In the middle of the COLD WAR the United States and Russia agreed to "Govern Together with other nations" the land mass of Antarctica??? SERIOUSLY??? You BS your friends.... I'll BS mine.... But let's NOT BS EACH OTHER! This is a LIE! I would have viewed it as a LIE in 1959! WHY would 19 nations agree to "Share a piece of unsettled land?" And govern it together??? Create a TREATY to do so! No.... This is BS! They are LYING TO US ALL because they don't want YOU or I to be able to EXPLORE & DISCOVER what's REALLY IN ANTARCTICA!!! Don't get me wrong, they have a few "Guided tours" where you can go on a SUPERVISED VISIT! But you CANNOT just go "Look around" Antarctica! Go ahead.... Apply for a "research permit!"
