Boris Johnson has told Britain not to cancel Christmas parties, nativity plays and other seasonal festivities, contradicting advice from his top public health official.
Dr Jenny Harries, chief executive of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), said yesterday that the risks posed by the Omicron coronavirus strain meant the public should decrease their contacts a little bit to help keep the variant at bay.
