GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
READ ROMANS 1:1 THROUGH 4:25
When Jane was sick for an extended time, she did not leave home except for doctors’ appointments. Her church friends visited, bringing cards and food. While she appreciated their efforts, it was not the same as worshipping with them. Finally, the day came when she returned to church. What a welcome she received! Many said they had missed her.

The church is a God-ordained meeting place for Christians. The purpose for gathering is so Christians will grow in faith. Paul realized the power of believers’ fellowship.

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith (Romans 1:11–12).

Every Sunday people with a myriad of needs enter houses of worship. Christians should ask God what they can do to make other worshippers stronger. A smile, a handshake, and a prayer can go a long way. God will use those who make themselves available.

Prayer Suggestion: God, please help me to help others.
