It has been 20 years since 9/11––a day that lives on in infamy. It is a day never to be forgotten. On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, people watched in horror, as two of four hijacked planes were flown into the Twin Towers at the World Trade Centre in New York City. Another two hijacked planes flew toward their targets. One intentionally crashed into the Pentagon, while the other, it is believed, was rapidly heading in the direction of the White House. Brave passengers and crew sought to regain control of the plane, which eventually crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.

These suicide terror attacks were attributed to al-Qaeda Islamic extremists. In one day nearly 3,000 Americans were killed; innocent men, women and children died. On the anniversary of 9/11, terrorist attacks are once again top news headlines. The lives of American military and innocent civilians have been lost in a disastrous exit from Afghanistan.

The Taliban have taken over Afghanistan. They hate America, our freedoms, and our way of life. They have shouted, “Death to America!” These terrorists enslave children to become sex slaves. They rape and oppress women. The Taliban torture and behead people. Why would our current President try to negotiate with these brutal terrorists?

As a direct result of our Commander in Chief’s weakness, the lives of America citizens, Christians, and Afghans who have helped us, hang in the balance. They feel abandoned. As our southern border remains wide open, America is on high alert for further terrorist attacks.
