GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
TURNING CURSES INTO BLESSINGS
READ NEHEMIAH 12:1 THROUGH 13:31
Susan had been promised that, upon graduation from Bible school, she’d work with writing and editing the organization’s publications. Then she was told they were giving the job to someone else. Susan could work in graphic arts or leave.

She felt betrayed. She had no experience in graphic arts. But she decided if this was the door God opened, she’d walk through it. For the next year, Susan learned graphic design, layout, and the printing process. After that, she was put in the originally promised position, but oh the difference! “Because I understand the overall process, I am so much better as a writer and editor,” she explained. Her “curse” of being a graphic artist had turned out to be one of the greatest blessings in her life.

Our God, however, turned the curse into a blessing (Nehemiah 13:2).

Nehemiah knew the truth of it, and so can you. Turn your situations over to God and trust Him to bring life, light, and hope to every tough situation.

Prayer Suggestion: Lord, when I experience pain and problems, please help me have faith that You can turn each curse into a blessing.
