CA has had it's ban on 'assault weapons' ripped to shreds by a pro 2A judge... to which I say 'HA-ha!' AR-15s are sporting rifles and anyone who knows anything about guns knows it. The only people who wanna ban AR-15s still thinks that AR stands for 'assault rifle' (which it doesn't) and generally don't know the first thing about guns.

Those of us who actually own guns and knwo anything about them know that a military grade assault rifle, such as an M-16, make the AR-15 look like a pea shooter. AR-15 is a semi automatic. Military assault rifles are selective fire with full auto capabilities.

The vast majority of military situations call for semi auto fire. Full auto is only used in a narrow range of situations, and full auto chews through ammo faster than most people would want, and is harder to aim, so is generally not effecient for most use cases, civilian or military.

By CA state law logic of any magazine being over 10 rounds is 'high capacity,' and anything with a pistol grip, more than 10 rounds, and a bunch of confusing ideas about folding stocks, scopes, suppressors etc. make no sense. They outlaw aspects of guns that actually make them safer, and categorize the vast majority of hand guns as 'assault weapons,' which once again, is only believable if you don't know anything about guns.

They like to attack the AR-15 because it cosmetically LOOKS similar to a military rifle, but it straight up isn't a military rifle. The vast majority of gun related crimes use handguns... very similar to the kinds of guns that the police will carry.

Furthermore, CA's gun control laws clearly don't work, because CA has some of the most insanely high rates of gun related crimes in the world, and those guns are not legally obtained the vast majority of the time... meaning the only poeple in CA who can't get a gun are the people who actually obey the law.

In 2020, 40,000,000 new guns were purchased nation wide. Of that number, 40% of them were purchased by women or minorities... which is a GOOD thing. Women and minorities should be allowed to embrace their 2nd amendment right and take their own personal defense into their own hands.

I think something like 70% of those people who bought guns in 2020 were first time gun owners, and they are both right wing and left wing politically minded individuals.

Typically, it's the left wing individuals who push gun control... but now many of those left wing people are now lawful gun owners, which means the support for gun control is dwindling, and it shows in the recent developments in which states are pushing back against gun control, implementing constitutional carry, and even drafting laws banning federal gun control measures in certain states or counties.

This is without even getting into the new capabilities being developed that allow people to use 3d printers or affordable CNC mills to build ghost guns in their garage. These ghost guns can have semi auto or full auto capabilities, and can use a wide range of calibers. They are not serialized or traceable, and yes, there is even development of home made ammo happening, and making great strides to overcome previously insurmountable obstacles in the field.

What does this all mean? It means that the people have spoken. Gun control has lost, and rightly so.

The 2nd amendment is there for several good reasons, and it's not for these corrupt idiots who run the worse, most crime ridden and financially depressed states to tell the rest of us anything about it.

Especially now that we see the threat of war looming over us (which we all predicted would happen if Biden took office,) it's especially important that we have a responsibly armed, trained, and capable population of people who stand ready to defend themselves against tyranny both foreign or domestic. That is the American way.

Just like freedom of speech, protection from illegal search and seizure, equal protections, the right to choose your own religion, the right to fair trial, protection from cruel and unusual punishment... the right to bear arms is a crucial part of what makes America what it is. If you don't like that.... move. Don't tell patriotic Americans that they can't practice their constitutional rights.

If you wanna try, then go through the motions to amend the constitution lawfully... but good luck with that, because America is a democracy, and most people understand that the 2nd amendment is important, and those that want to take it away are power hungry tyrants trying to trick the people out of their own best interests.

This ruling against CA's ridiculous gun control laws is a huge win for the rest of the country who still values the constitution. Let's keep this momentum and show the world that we take our freedom seriously in the US!
