A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, Mike extinguished himself rising to the exalted rank of First Class Private. A year later, to the great consternation of Immigration and Naturalization who somehow doubted his story of instant love, they consummated their marriage and daughter #1 was born.

Finding himself a civilian again and with no other organization willing to let him wear their uniform he restarted his career as a Chemist, and having no talent for this he ended up as a computer systems administrator, network engineer and problem fixer.

Aircraft that could fly people across oceans in 6 hours ended the passenger liners industry. This is what new science and technology does, it improves life, makes living cheaper. What ended slavery worldwide was fossil fuel as gasoline was cheaper than feeding a slave to do the same work.
All technical problems associated with solar and wind were solved a decade ago and the technology is improving daily. But, it takes time to replace a large energy infrastructure built over 150 years. It will however be replaced and the sooner the better.
This energy transition requires ZERO tax dollars as 100% of all energy production and distribution is done by private industry. All government must do is to GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY AND LET IT HAPPEN! The government owns no power plants and sells not a single watt to the public.
After 50 years of expensive research, Fusion power is a mere 50 years away. Meanwhile, clean safe solar - Fusion Power Mk 1 - is working now. Both nuclear and fusion are expensive dead ends.
